Man, 31, shot in leg in Federal Way

Circumstances leading up to shooting are unclear, police say.

A 31-year-old man was shot in the leg on Tuesday afternoon in Federal Way, marking the third shooting in five days.

Around 2 p.m. Sept. 7, Federal Way officers responded to reports of a shooting in the 33100 block of Pacific Highway South, said Cmdr. Kurt Schwan of Federal Way Police.

On scene, officers found a 31-year-old man who had been shot in the leg. Officers provided aid until medics and South King Fire & Rescue crews arrived. The man was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The circumstances leading up to the shooting are unclear, Schwan said. The suspect is described as a Pacific Islander man, he added.

In unrelated shooting incidents, two men were shot near a Federal Way grocery store on Sept. 6 and the suspects were not found. On Sept. 3, an officer was ambushed and shot at by an unknown suspect.
