Grace Seifert, graduating senior from Emerald Ridge High School in Puyallup, is the 2023 recipient of the Don Barrows Memorial Scholarship from the Federal Way Choral.

Love of music has been with Grace most of her life. She has participated in choirs for nine years and performed in musical theatre productions for seven years.

Grace has interpreted the roles of Linus in “You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown”; Elsa in “Frozen”; and, most recently, Truly Scrumptious in the musical “Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.” She has had the good fortune to meet Leslie Odom Jr., Hamilton’s original Aaron Burr. Grace has also appeared in dramas and has had the opportunity to visit Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre in London.

Grace credits her music teachers with giving her the confidence to pursue her dream of performing live musical theatre. She plans to study musical theatre at The American Musical and Dramatics Academy in Los Angeles. In the future, she hopes to help others to find the same confidence she found in vocal performance through teaching workshops or private lessons.

When she is not working on her studies or preparing for a musical performance, Grace enjoys relaxing with her family, her dogs and playing the ukulele. Visiting Italy and France and performing on Broadway are in her plans for the future. Best of luck, Grace!
