Windermere agents volunteer at Federal Way Senior Center

Windermere Real Estate/West Campus and South Sound held its annual community service day, June 9. The project this year was the Federal Way Senior Center, 4013 S. 352nd St.

While it is called the Federal Way Senior Center, it is located in unincorporated King County and receives very little funding from Federal Way. The only funding available is through grants, and it only has a part-time manager.

At the same time, it provides lunch and social activities for around 500 to 700 seniors per week. The grounds also has a food bank open to all ages.

Thirty local Windermere agents provided 90 hours of service there, which included cleaning the club house main room, kitchen and restrooms, working in the community garden, assisting in sorting food for the food bank and weed-eating around all of the buildings and grounds areas.
