Pitcher — Jessica Dickson, Jefferson

The senior left-hander led the Raiders to their third state tournament appearance in school history. Dickson started 24 games for the Raiders during the season and racked up a 14-9 record. She threw 23 complete games and struck out 124 hitters in 139 innings of work. Dickson finished fifth in the SPSL North with a 1.66 earned-run average and was a first-team, All-SPSL North selection at pitcher. She will play at Whitworth next season.’

Catcher — Christi Bruin, Jefferson

The junior was solid behind the plate all season long for the Raiders, who finished third in the rugged SPSL North. Bruin hit .365 during the regular season with eight doubles. She scored 12 runs and knocked in 17.

First base — Erin Fujita, Jefferson

Arm troubles plagued Fujita for most of the year and necessitated a move to first base from the outfield for her season season. The left-hander was a first-team, All-SPSL North selection after hitting .474 during the SPSL North regular season. Fujita also finished with 16 runs scored and 21 RBIs for the Raiders and had 10 doubles, one triple and one home run. She also stole three bases. Fujita was also on the Seattle Times and Tacoma News Tribune’s All-Area teams. She will play in the fall at Hawaii-Pacific University.

“Erin will see most of her time at first base or in the outfield,” HPU coach Bryan Nakasone said. “She bats from the left side and has a bit of power to go the opposite way.”

Second base — Cassidy DeWaele, Jefferson

The junior finished with a .235 batting average with two doubles, two triples, one home run and 10 runs scored. DeWaele also knocked in eight runs for the Raiders.

“She can hit for a ton of power and won a state game for us with a home run and a double,” said TJ head coach Chad Fahnlander. “She has a great glove at second.”

Shortstop — Brianne Grosche, Beamer

The junior was a second-team, All-SPSL South selection as an infielder after a stellar season. Grosche led the Titans to fifth place in the South Division and their first-ever appearance in the postseason. Her best game of the season came April 23 during a 7-4 win over Curtis. During the game, Grosche was 2-for-3 with a double, home run and two RBIs.

Third base — Jayme Carbon, Jefferson

The senior had another solid season for the Raiders. The third baseman hit .400 on the season with four doubles, two triples, 16 runs and eight RBIs. Carbon also stole three bases and was one of the better defensive players in the league. She also played in four state golf tournaments and has already signed to play golf at Eastern Washington University in the fall.

Outfield — Alleah Pac, Federal Way

The senior was the Eagles’ best hitter all season long. Pac finished seventh in the SPSL North with a .394 batting average. She also had three doubles and had an on-base percentage of .459 and slugged .485. Pac was a second-team, All-SPSL North Division selection.

Sarah Petosa, Beamer

The first-team, All-SPSL South Division selection was the Titans’ best offensive player during the season. Petosa, a center fielder, had six multi-hit games during the year and stole double digit bases, including three in three different games. During a March 31 win over Graham-Kapowsin, Petosa finished 2-for-3 with two triples and three stolen bases. Petosa was an All-City selection last season.

Lindsey Dickinson, Decatur

The sophomore had a solid season for the Gators in 2009. Dickinson led a Decatur offense that struggled to score runs during the season in the SPSL South. Dickinson was a second-team, All-SPSL South Division pick and had one of her better games against Emerald Ridge on April 30. Dickinson finished 2-for-3 with a triple and an RBI against all-league pitcher Alisha McKnight.

Designated Hitter — Taylor Winton, Beamer

The 6-foot-1 catcher proved to be one of the most powerful hitters in the SPSL South. The junior had six multi-hit games during the SPSL South regular season and pounded out two home runs. She was a second-team, All-SPSL South selection and was 3-for-3 with an RBI during the Titans’ first-ever game at the West Central District Tournament May 22 in a loss to Wilson.
