The Guns N' Hoses charity boxing tournament was held Sept. 17 at Emerald Queen Casino in Tacoma. The event, presented by Brain Halquist Productions, featured local police and firefighters boxing in three-round bouts.

The Guns N’ Hoses charity boxing tournament was held Sept. 17 at Emerald Queen Casino in Tacoma. The event, presented by Brain Halquist Productions, featured local police and firefighters boxing in three-round bouts.

Proceeds will benefit charities including the Pacific Northwest Amateur Boxing Association, which works with local gyms by funding programs for at-risk youth in an effort to keep them off the streets.

The card featured a total of 15 bouts with participants hailing from Seattle Fire Department, Pierce County Fire Department, Vancouver Police Department, Everett Police Department, Seattle Police Department, King County Sheriffs Office, Lakewood Police Department, among other fire and police agencies from around the state.

Results: Oman d. Geddry; Gerillo d. Ginger; Robinson d. Swain; Mackovjak d. Sampaga; Norfleet d. Berdan; Bryant d. Hernandez; Beebe d. Woodhouse; Haddox d. Santos; Garcia d. Williams; Williamson d. Crawley; Harvey d. Thomas; Rooney d. Navarrette; Prater d. Bibbens. Harvey (police) and Bryant (fire) were named Fighters of the Night.

Cagesport XVI: Kyle Keeney will make the first defense of his CageSport Heavyweight Championship against Daniel Stewart in the main event at CageSport XVI. The mixed martial arts action begins at 7 p.m. Oct. 1 at Emerald Queen Casino. In the co-main event, Chanti Johnson will take on Tyson Nam.  Johnson is considered the most successful fighter in CageSport history. Battle at the Boat 84: At 7 p.m. Nov. 5 at Emerald Queen Casino, undefeated Federal Way boxer Vincent Thompson (9-0, 2 KO) will face Tacoma heavyweight Jonte Willis (8-1-1, 3 KOs) in the main event between two of the Northwest’s top heavyweight contenders.
