• Accomplishment: Boggs won her third-straight West Central District title in the 100-yard butterfly last weekend at Rogers High School. Boggs won the district championship in the race by over four seconds in an automatic state-qualifying time of 56.83. Boggs has not lost a race in the 100 butterfly at the league or district level in the last two years. Boggs also finished second in the 50 freestyle behind TJ freshman Amber Cratsenberg. Boggs will swim both events at the Class 4A State Swimming and Diving Championships Nov. 14-15 at the Weyerhaeuser King County Aquatic Center. Boggs finished sixth in the 100 butterfly at last year’s state championships.
For the second year in a row, the Todd Beamer girls swim team couldn’t get by the Gig Harbor Tides at the West Central District Swimming Championships.
The Thomas Jefferson girls are headed back to the Class 4A State Cross Country Championships. The Raiders finished fifth at Saturday’s West Central District Westside Classic at American Lake Golf Course in Lakewood.

Federal Way resident J.R. Celski had another successful weekend on the short-track speedskating circuit last weekend. Celski finished in fourth place in the 1,500-meter final at the World Cup II event at the Pacific Coliseum in Vancouver, B.C. The 17-year-old also won a gold medal in the 5,000-meter relay along with American teammates Apolo Ohno, Jeff Simon and Anthony Lobello.
