Harlem Wizards will perform at Todd Beamer

The Harlem Wizards will perform at 7 p.m. May 1 at Todd Beamer High School, 35999 16th Ave. S. The show will benefit the school’s basketball program as well as local parent-teacher associations in the Federal Way School District. Tickets are $10 for students and $12 for adults. Raider baseball splits a pair, remains in third

The Thomas Jefferson Raider baseball team moved into third place in the South Puget Sound League North Division by splitting a pair of games earlier this week.

Beamer track wins prestigious Tacoma Invite

The Todd Beamer track and field teams combined to win the prestigious Tacoma Invitational on Saturday at Mount Tahoma High School. The meet included 38 boys teams and 35 on the girls’ side.

Seven high school seniors from Washington, including Thomas Jefferson High School’s Danielle Bennett, have been awarded the Chick Evans Caddie Scholarship, a full-tuition college scholarship renewable for up to four years, for the 2008-09 academic year. Bennett will attend the University of Washington and caddies at the Seattle Golf Club.

Brilhante takes over basketball program at Todd Beamer

The Brent Brilhante era is officially underway at Todd Beamer High School. The 1997 Decatur High School graduate was named the Titans’ head boys basketball coach on Wednesday.

Federal Way High School seniors Justin Southern and Greylin James will get to keep playing football in the fall. The Eagle pair have signed letters of intent to play at Eastern Oregon University after stellar careers at Federal Way.

Western Washington University junior Brandon Brown has been named Great Northwest Athletic Conference Golfer of the Week.

Beamer baseball wins sixth in a row

The Todd Beamer baseball team just keeps winning. The Titans rolled to their sixth win in a row Friday over the Bethel Braves, 5-2. Beamer currently sits in second place with an 8-2 record in the South Puget Sound League South Division and 10-4 overall. Puyallup sits atop the division with a perfect 10-0 record.

Decatur High School senior guard Marcus Tibbs has always had the goal of playing Division I basketball. He will get that chance.
