The current Bellevue Community College right-handed pitcher was drafted by the Seattle Mariners Friday in the 30th round of the 2008 major league draft. It was the second time Reid has been drafted. The Cleveland Indians selected him after his senior season at Decatur in 2006, but didn’t sign him.
Twenty-five miles separate Enterprise Elementary School from Safeco field. For 25 days, Enterprise Elementary students, parents and staff walk, run or jog the distance — earning an opportunity to go on a field trip to a Mariners baseball game on June 3, 2008, or to earn a T-shirt. Enterprise’s 484 students completed over 4,500 miles this year.

Several student-athletes from the Federal Way School District will play sports in the fall at different Northwest Athletic Association of Community College (NWAACC) schools. They have officially signed NWAACC letters of intent.

Central Washington University shortstop Jamie Nilsen is officially an All-American baseball player. The Thomas Jefferson High School graduate has been named a Division II First Team All-American by both Daktronics and the National Collegiate Baseball Writers’ Association (NCBWA). Nilsen just finished his senior season for the Wildcats.
