Tracking the Grads: Softball and tracksters at the next level

Noelle Vallecorsa — The Federal Way graduate is playing her senior season on the University of Puget Sound fastpitch team. The catcher is hitting .222 with one double and four RBIs. UPS is currently 6-6 on the season.

Leslie Davis — The Federal Way graduate is playing softball at Montana State University-Billings. The junior pitcher/infielder is hitting .338 with three doubles, two home runs and a team-leading 11 RBIs. Montana-Billings is currently 6-15 overall.

Kristi Sigafoos — The 2006 TJ grad is playing her sophomore year at Saint Martin’s College in Lacey as a shortstop. Last season, she was selected the Great Northwest Athletic Conference player of the week and was honorable mention All-GNAC.

This year, Sigafoos is hitting .250 with three doubles, one triple, two home runs and 13 RBIs. Saint Martin’s is currently 11-15.

Jade Clare — The 2006 Beamer grad is playing her sophomore season at Stony Brook University in New York. Clare is a catcher/outfielder for the Sea Wolves and is hitting .346 with two doubles, one home run and a team-leading eight RBIs. Stony Brook is currently 5-6 on the season.

Morgan Bright — The 2007 Decatur High School grad is currently playing at Central Washington University. Bright, an outfielder, has started four games for the Wildcats and scored one run. Central is currently 6-4 overall.

Tim Satterwhite — The TJ grad is currently competing on the Western Washington University track and field team. Satterwhite transferred to Western from Texas Southern. He recently won the triple jump with a leap of 43-7 1/4 on March 8 at the University of Puget Sound Joe Peyton Invitational in Tacoma.

McKinley Williams — The Todd Beamer graduate is currently running track at Western Washington University. The sophomore is a distance runner.

Chris Williams — The Decatur grad is currently running on the Washington State University track team. Williams is a senior and also runs cross country for the Cougars. He finished 74th overall at the Pac-10 Cross Country Championships in the fall.

Amanda Stewart — The Decatur High School grad is competing in her freshman season at Washington State. Stewart is a high jumper, who finished in the top-six at the state meet every year during high school. Her highest finish was third as a freshman.

Princess Joy Griffey — The 2006 Decatur grad is running on the Washington State track team. Griffey is competing in her sophomore year for the Cougars and running in sprint events. As a freshman, Griffey set a freshman school record in the 60-meter dash with a time of 7.47, which is the third-best time in WSU history. She also ran the fifth-best 100-meter time in school history last year (11.72). Griffey won three state championships in high school.

Lionel Orji and Jessica Franz — Orji, a Todd Beamer grad, and Franz, a Beamer grad, are both competing on the Central Washington University track teams.
