Baseball

The Todd Beamer Titans ended the regular season in second place in the SPSL South with a 16-10 win over Spanaway Lake Monday. The Titans finished 11-3 in the South. Puyallup won the league with a 12-2 record.

Beamer took on Tahoma last night at the SPSL Tournament (after press time) and will play again May 10 at the West Central District Tournament.

The Titans got huge offensive games from Carson Wolbert and Justin Lee against Spanaway Lake. Wolbert finished 3-for-4 with six RBIs, a double and a home run and Lee was 4-for-5 with four runs, a home run and a double.

Jefferson (10-4) ended up in third place in the North with a 5-1 win over Federal Way Tuesday. Both teams also played last night at the SPSL Tournament. Federal Way (8-6) took on Curtis in a loser-out game and the Raiders played Emerald Ridge in a seeding game to districts.

In Tuesday’s game, TJ senior Taylor Stack limited the Eagles to just five hits and allowed only one run in the sixth. Andrew Jones threw the seventh inning to earn the save.

Jefferson tallied two runs in the second, two more in the fifth and a single run in the sixth. Derek Voigt finished 2-for-2 with an RBI.
