Q: What additional activities/hobbies do you enjoy?

A: Club gymnastics and being with friends.

Q: Person who has helped you succeed the most?

A: My parents.

Q: What is the best advice you’ve been given when it comes to your sport?

A: “Don’t let things get in your head.”

Q: Describe your pre-game ritual and your favorite post-game meal?

A: Pre-game ritual: Watching TV or listening to music so I don’t think about the stress of the meet. Post-game meal: Smoothie.

Q: Song you currently can’t stop listening to?

A: “Broadway Girls” by Lil Durk feat. Morgan Wallen.

From the sidelines: TJHS senior Alia Near is a full-time Running Start student, has a job, and competes as a club gymnastic and in high school gymnastics. She accomplishes this while remaining undefeated in the All-Around category this season for Thomas Jefferson High School.
