Dec. 22

There were zero vehicle thefts reported, and zero vehicles were recovered on this day.

Middle school fight: At 1:50 p.m. at a Federal Way middle school, there was a report that an officer responded to a fight between two students. A parent reported that her daughter suffered a concussion as a result of the fight. According to the mother, the school is aware of the incident and the other student’s parents were also notified. A case number was provided to the parent after seeking information for a protection order.

Dec. 23

There were zero vehicle thefts reported, and one vehicle was recovered on this day.

Person sleeping in a car wash: At 8:38 a.m. in the 2500 block of South 320th Street, an officer responded to a trespassing call at a 76 gas station. The manager stated that someone was sleeping in the car wash and they wanted him to be trespassed. The person was already trespassing on the property, and officers advised him of his previous trespass, and he was told not to come back.

Money found at light rail station: At 8:40 a.m. in the 31000 block of 23rd Avenue South, there was a report that officers on duty at the light rail station located two $20 bills. The officer held on to the money until the end of their shift, and no owner was located. The money was booked into safekeeping.

Lost magazine: At 11:04 a.m. in the 34000 block of First Circle South, there was a report that a man told officers that he misplaced a firearm magazine loaded with eight 9mm rounds. The man said that he looked through his whole house and vehicle, and did not locate the item. The man said he was not sure if he lost it or if it was stolen. The man wanted to document the situation. No crime occurred.

Bank scam: At 12:50 p.m. in the 300 block of South 320th Street, there was a report from someone who said they got a text from someone claiming to be Bank of America, and then they got a call from the number. The person said the person asked for their bank information, which they provided. The reporting party stated that they then saw that about a $100 worth of purchases were made online. The reporting party then reported the incident to his bank. Theft reported.

Nephew being beaten up: At 4:37 p.m. in the 30000 block of Pacific Highway South, there was a report that an uncle called and wanted to report that his 14-year-old nephew was being beaten up and threatened with a gun by unknown subjects at View at the Lake Apartments.

Dec. 24

There were zero vehicle thefts reported, and one vehicle was recovered on this day.

Encampment: At 2:40 p.m. in the 3000 block of South 320th Street, there were complaints from the Washington State Department of Transportation about an encampment east of the I-5 northbound ramp. The people at the encampment were asked to leave and offered housing services.

Dec. 25

There were zero vehicle thefts reported, and one vehicle was recovered on this day.

Dog fight: At 7:32 p.m. in the 1000 block of South 320th Street, there was a report that officers responded to a fight between two dogs that resulted in injuries to a dog and its owner.

Dec. 26

There were zero vehicle thefts reported, and one vehicle was recovered on this day.

Fire started on a bus: At 4:14 a.m. in the 31000 block of 23rd Avenue South, there was a report that an officer responded to a report of a male starting a fire on a bus.

Dec. 27

There was one vehicle theft reported, and one vehicle was recovered on this day.

A woman reported being jumped: At 1:45 a.m. in the 32000 block of 47th Avenue Southwest, there was a report of a two-vehicle collision, and a woman at the scene said that she had been jumped. The woman would not specify what occurred, but she had bruises on her face and arms, and she refused medical attention.

Trailer stolen: At 9:11 a.m. in the 35000 block of Enchanted Parkway South, there was a report that a trailer was stolen. CCTV footage showed that the man’s trailer was taken by an unlicensed truck. The man who hooked the trailer up to his truck was reported as a white man wearing a black jacket, white shirt and blue jeans.

Dec. 28

There was one vehicle theft reported, and zero vehicles were recovered on this day.

DUI: At 1:22 a.m. on Pacific Highway South, there was a report that an officer observed a vehicle turn a corner at a high rate of speed and at an angle that required the officer to maneuver backwards or risk a vehicular collision. Officers initiated a traffic stop and quickly developed probable cause for DUI. The subject consented to a breath test at the station and was subsequently booked into jail.

Possible drunk driver in the roadway: At 5:17 a.m. on South 320th Street, there was a report that officers observed a vehicle stopped in the roadway at an intersection. The driver of the vehicle was asleep behind the wheel, and the vehicle was in drive. Officers contacted the driver. Following investigation, one subject was booked under probable cause of DUI.

Grocery store assault: At 8:32 p.m. on Military Road South, there was a report of an assault inside a grocery store. Officers located the involved party, who said that he had been hit by an unknown male during an argument. The other male had fled the scene prior to the officer’s arrival. The involved male refused aid. The involved male did not want to prosecute.
