Illegal dumping: At 11:29 a.m. on Pacific Highway South, there was a report that two people in a Hyundai had dumped about six bags of garbage in the victim’s dumpster. The amount appeared to be criminal. The driver of the Hyundai was contacted, and an agreement was made with the owner of the dumpster that they would not prosecute if the drivers of the Hyundai retrieved the garbage they dumped by the end of the day.
Burglary: At 3:28 p.m. on 21st Avenue Southwest, there was a report of a nonresidential burglary.
Dec. 30
There were zero vehicle thefts reported, and zero vehicles were recovered on this day.
Person found deceased: At 11:21 a.m. in the 29000 block of 11th Avenue Southwest, a man reported that he found his brother dead in his apartment. The man had not been heard from since October, when a welfare check was conducted. The man’s brother lives in Nevada and came by to check on him. The man was found face down in his living room. He was deceased for a while. The body was blackened and mummified. His dog was also deceased, lying next to his head. There were no signs of foul play. All doors were locked at the time of discovery. The brother stated that the deceased man had congenital heart disease.
Man trespassed after using racial slur: At 11:30 a.m. in the 32000 block of Pacific Highway South, there was a report from a security guard at a bank that a male came into the location and was vaping. The security guard told officers that the man who was vaping called him a racial slur after the security guard told him that he could not vape on the premises. The security guard’s body cam corroborated this. The security guard asked that the man who was vaping be trespassed. The man was subsequently trespassed.

There were zero vehicle thefts reported, and one vehicle was recovered on this day.
Alleged drunk driver: At 4:28 a.m. in the 33000 block of 21st Avenue Southwest, there was a report that a vehicle was blocking the roadway. Upon arrival, officers located a vehicle that had apparently been in a collision. Officers interviewed the driver and developed probable cause to arrest the driver for DUI.
Burglary: At 9:51 a.m. in the 2500 block of South 286th Place, there was a report of a burglary at the Villa Capri Apartments. An apartment was entered overnight. A TV and a water heater were stolen. No suspects at this time.
Death threats: At 3:49 a.m. in the 2100 block of South 285th Street, there was a report from a man who said that he had been getting called repeatedly from a restricted phone number. The suspect was using his name and address and threatened to kidnap and kill him. The victim did not feel threatened by the statements and began ignoring the phone calls. There is no suspect information at this time.

Car possibly shot: At 2:53 p.m. in the 2100 block of South 285th Street, there was a report of suspicious circumstances. At the location, officers observed damage to a vehicle that appeared consistent with gunfire. A spent slug was located inside the vehicle. The impact to the vehicle appeared to be a secondary impact, and the slug appears to have struck another object before hitting the window. No shell casings were seen nearby.
Assault with a firearm: At 6:33 p.m. in the 1400 block of South 320th Street, there was a report that officers responded to an assault with a firearm. The suspect was gone upon arrival.
Mailboxes taken down: At 12:53 p.m. in the 1700 block of South 374th Street, a resident reported hearing a loud crashing noise. Someone then went outside and found that the group of mailboxes had been hit by a vehicle, and the mailboxes were now broken from the post. The only thing left behind was a Ford emblem. No witnesses or CCTV footage due to a power outage at the time. Case inactive and leads exhausted.

Missing firearm: At 10:41 a.m. in the 34000 block of First Circle South, there was a report of a missing firearm. The reporting party does not know if the firearm was stolen or lost. No suspect at this time.
Racial slurs: At 11:55 a.m. in the 1200 block of South 336th Street, the employee stated that a tenant came to the main office and began uttering racial slurs. The tenant did not make any threats, but made numerous derogatory comments about the Somali community living at the listed apartment complex and their religion. The subject left without incident, and no probable cause to arrest the individual was established.
Inappropriate comments: At 7:58 p.m. in the 28000 block of Pacific Highway South, there was a report from a woman who said a man got onto the same bus as her and began making inappropriate comments to her while she was with her three-year-old child. The woman got off the bus, but the man continued following her and making comments. The man only stopped when she said she was going to call 911. The man was reported to be a Hispanic male in his 40s, wearing a dark beanie and walking with a black-and-white puppy. No probable cause for a crime at this time. The report is for information only.

Man running in the street: At 3:59 p.m. on Pacific Highway South, there was a report that a man was running across the street in traffic. The male was found to have a warrant and was arrested.
Jan. 4
There were two vehicle thefts reported, and zero vehicles were recovered on this day.
Stolen firearm: At 12:30 a.m. on South 348th Street, there was a report of a vehicle collision. During the collision investigation, a stolen firearm was located in vehicle two. The driver of vehicle two stated that the driver of vehicle one dropped the firearm inside vehicle two after the collision. The driver of vehicle one stated that it wasn’t his firearm. The gun was booked into evidence and sent for fingerprinting.
Gunshot victim: At 6:52 a.m. on Pacific Highway East, there was a report that officers responded to the location for a reported gunshot wound victim with non-life-threatening injuries. The victim was transported to the hospital. It was found that the shooting happened in Fife, so the case was forwarded to the Fife Police Department.
Robbery: At 1:33 p.m. in the 31000 block of Pacific Highway South, there was a report of a strong-arm robbery at a business.

Residential burglary: At 8:31 a.m. in the 1300 block of Southwest Campus Drive, there was a report that a victim stated that he was locked in his bedroom and someone had broken into his house. Officers arrived on scene and established probable cause for residential burglary.
