KWPS Cares, a nonprofit helping families in need, will host the “Under the Big Top 2016” dinner and auction at Emerald Downs racetrack (2300 Ron Crockett Dr., Auburn) on Saturday, Oct. 29, with a silent auction beginning at 5 p.m.

Guests can enjoy circus-themed entertainment and dinner followed by a live auction. All event proceeds will benefit the KWPS Cares fund, the KW Cares nonprofit arm of Keller Williams Puget Sound. Every year the KWPS Cares team reviews numerous nominations for grants, the organization said in a release, and it attempts to accept as many as possible. Two of this year’s recipients include 14-year-old Logan Lewis and 3-year-old Tucker Howe: Logan is currently battling a recurrence of neuroblastoma, a nerve tissue cancer, after six years of remission, while Tucker is coping with a rare form of muscular dystrophy, called Duchenne muscular dystrophy, at just 3 years old.

Organizers say they’ve been gathering great items and experiences that will be available in both the silent and live auctions, making available something for everyone just in time for the holidays. Mirror readers can use the promo code KWPSCARES at checkout when registering for “Under the Big Top 2016” and save $5 off the event ticket. The standard ticket price is $75, which includes dinner.
