The Historical Society and Kiwanis clubs of Federal Way honored local veterans during a special ceremony on Tuesday at Todd Beamer High School.

During the event, veterans in the audience were each called and recognized for their service. Soldiers who lost their lives, were prisoners of war or missing in action were also remembered during a moment of silence.

Youth groups from Federal Way helped to celebrate the event, including presentations involving Todd Beamer and Federal Way Reserve Officers’ Training Corps groups, both boy and girl scout troops, Federal Way Police Explorers and the Todd Beamer Wind Ensemble.
