Jon McIntosh, lead pastor of Federal Way’s Grace Church (1232 SW Dash Point Road), won the Washington Association of School Administrators 110 “Overall Individual Recognition Award” May 20 for the impact he’s had on the lives of thousands of students in the Federal Way schools.

McIntosh was nominated by Federal Way Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Tammy Campbell. He was one of 16 individuals nominated for the award.

“Federal Way Public Schools is honored to have community leaders such as Jon McIntosh who inspire and build community to make a positive impact in the lives of Federal Way Public Schools’ student-scholars and families,” said district spokeswoman Kassie Swenson.

McIntosh is a well-known and respected community leader who began serving at Grace Church in 1994 and has been the lead pastor since 2005. He is passionate about servant leadership and community transformation, living out his church’s mission of “touching lives and transforming communities” through various community leadership roles like being past president of the Advancing Leadership Board of Directors and working currently as a Federal Way Police Department chaplain.

Active at both the school and district level, McIntosh recently was a member of the District’s Core Planning Team, providing valuable input as a community leader to the district’s strategic plan. Throughout the year, McIntosh, his leadership staff, church members, and other volunteers stay active in supporting the district’s students and families with much-needed school supplies, clothing, food, and enrichment opportunities. Grace Church provides meals to well over 800 families during the holiday season, and during the Christmas season, McIntosh co-leads, in partnership with other city and community leaders, Federal Way Cares for Kids, a coalition providing support to children and over 300 families in need during the holiday season. Additionally, before each school year, McIntosh and his staff help beautify community schools in tandem with the district’s maintenance staff.

McIntosh and his wife, Wendy, are parents of two Federal Way Public Schools students.
