Crime Stoppers is offering a $16,000 reward to anyone who comes forward to help solve this week’s murders. The reward is made up of $1,000 from Crime Stoppers and $15,000 in private donations to the group.

The bulk of that pot, $10,000, was announced at Thursday’s Federal Way City Council meeting. Federal Way police spokeswoman Cathy Schrock said Friday that an additional $5,000 had been pledged.

Citizens with information on the homicides can call Crime Stoppers’ anonymous tip line at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477). They can also call the Federal Way Police Department’s non-emergency line at 253-835- 2121 or visit the department’s anonymous tip website, www.safecityfw.com.

According to its website, Crime Stoppers of Puget Sound is a private non-profit that is independent of, but works to support, local police. Crime Stoppers keeps all of its tip providers anonymous, encouraging crime solving assistance without having individuals become directly involved in the investigation process.
