Summer Sounds Concert Series: Federal Way’s Summer Sounds Concert Series is a free concert line-up from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. every Wednesday evening in July at Steel Lake Park that brings live music to the community. Steel Lake Park is located at 2410 S. 312th St. in Federal Way.

Bike Safety Event: Get ready for family friendly fun of all things bikes put on by We Love Our City Federal Way from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. July 26 at the Family Life Center, 32275 32nd Ave. S. in Federal Way. The event will feature a bike rodeo safety course, a repair station, bike decorating station, recycle station and giveaways including bikes and helmets.

Brent Vernon: Federal Way Church of the Nazarene invites you to a free night for the whole family with singer-songwriter, ventriloquist, and author-illustrator Brent Vernon and his pal, Sam. Federal Way Pride: Celebrate pride from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. Aug. 2 at Town Square Park located at 31600 Pete von Reichbauer Way in Federal Way. Open to all open and affirming people who want to share a family reunion vibe with food vendors, arts and crafts vendors, performances throughout the day. Attendance is free.

FUSION Gala: The annual FUSION Summer Arts Gala is scheduled for 5 p.m. Aug. 9 at Dumas Bay Centre. This year’s theme is “Waves of Change,” and the annual event raises thousands of dollars for local homeless families and children in need. Kid’s Day: Federal Way Parks and Recreation presents Kid’s Day from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Aug. 6 at Steel Lake Park. This event is free.

Federal Way Community Festival: The Diversity Commission presents this free festival from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. Aug. 9 at Town Square Park located at 31600 Pete von Reichbauer Way S. in Federal Way. Join in for a celebration of the rich and vibrant diversity that makes the Federal Way community unique. The event will feature local businesses and nonprofits, diverse food, local art, a kid zone and diverse live music and performances.

Hot off the Presses: The Federal Way Mirror invites you to join the paper from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Aug. 12 at Poverty Bay Café for informal conversation, coffee, beer, wine and appetizers. You’ll be able to ask the newspaper staff about their work or talk about issues affecting the region, such as homelessness, addiction and development, all while supporting a local business and the work of nonprofit FUSION to serve families in need. Back-to-School Bash: The Table will be doing a big backpack and grocery giveaway from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Aug. 22 in the parking lot of the Commons.

Lions Club Car Show: From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Aug. 23 there will be a chance to enjoy the 20th annual Lions Club Scholarship Car Show at the Commons Mall in the south parking lot along South 324th Street and Pacific Highway.

Beauty of our African Roots: In the 3rd annual youth culture event presented by the African Young Dreamers Empowerment Program Intl (AYDEPI), enjoy music and dance, fashion, community voices and African food. The event will be held from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m Aug. 23, at the Family Life Center, 32275 32nd Ave. S. in Federal Way.
