July 9

There were zero vehicle thefts reported, and zero vehicles were recovered on this day.

Residential burglary: At 1:28 a.m. in the 1200 block of South 312th Street, there was a report that two unknown females had gained access to a residence through an unlocked bedroom window and stole multiple items.

Throwing rocks at window: At 4 a.m. in the 33000 block of 38th Place SW, there was a report that a mother called 911 after reporting that her biological daughter was at her house and shooting an unknown firearm. After further investigation, it was determined that the daughter was using rocks to throw at the house and break the windows. The daughter was arrested for malicious mischief.

July 10

Man with a knife at McDonald’s: At 2:16 a.m. in the 34000 block of Pacific Highway South, there was a report that officers responded to McDonald’s for a call involving threats with a knife. No arrests were made.

$18,000 in crypto lost online: At 12:17 p.m. in the 1100 block of SW 352nd Street, a man reported that he opened an app on his phone for Firefox and added his electronic wallet. The man said that after uploading his wallet to the app, he found his account was missing about $18,000 worth of cryptocurrency. The man said that he had an investigative report from a website called Trade Ogre.

Assault over music: At 11:30 p.m. in the 28000 block of 17th Place South, there was a report that officers were dispatched to a dispute over music. An assault allegedly took place.

July 11

There was one vehicle theft reported, and one vehicle was recovered on this day.

Suspected cocaine found during search: At 11:32 a.m. in the 1700 block of South 312th Street, there was a report that a traffic stop was conducted and after a search warrant was executed, suspected cocaine was found on the driver. The suspect was transported to the Regional Justice Center, where he failed booking and was released. His vehicle was impounded, and the suspected drugs were tested and booked into evidence. The case was forwarded to the prosecutor for charges.

Man tries to leave scene of crash: At 3:18 p.m. in the 2100 block of South 320th Street, there was a report of a collision. Upon officer arrival, they found a male subject attempting to leave the scene who showed signs of impairment. Officers conducted a DUI investigation and booked the adult male into SCORE jail.

July 12

There were zero vehicle thefts reported, and zero vehicles were recovered on this day.

Assaulted by person in her car: At 12:21 a.m. in the 200 block of SW 356th Street, there was a report from a woman who said that she was assaulted by a suspect who was in her vehicle. The suspect was gone on arrival. A check was conducted in the area for the suspect, but they were not found.

Person flees from police: At 12:59 a.m. in the 31000 block of 11th Place Southwest, officers responded to a domestic violence situation, and when they went to arrest the suspect, he started to run away. After a very brief foot pursuit, the suspect was apprehended and later booked into the King County jail.

July 13

Brandishing gun: At 6:31 p.m. in the 28000 block of Redondo Beach Drive South, there was a report that a man was driving, and a white Chevy van from the late 1990s or early 2000s was driving in front of him, swerving, and when he honked at the van, the driver of the van pointed a handgun out the window toward the man.

Necklace scam: At 8:28 p.m. in the 34000 block of 16th Avenue South, there was a report from a man who said that while walking back to his car after shopping at Walmart, he was approached by a young Middle Eastern couple. The female said that she had a gift for him and began putting a necklace around his neck. The victim declined, but the female was insistent and placed the necklace around his neck. Unbeknownst to the victim, the female had removed his real necklace without him realizing it. The couple also gave him a pair of AirPods and then walked off. The victim later realized that his original necklace, worth approximately $2,000, was missing. The victim described the male as having black hair and a beard, while the female could not be described as she was wearing a face covering. Walmart CCTV footage was not clear enough to distinguish any potential suspects.

July 14

There was one vehicle theft reported, and one vehicle was recovered on this day.

Female found slumped over: At midnight in the 34000 block of Pacific Highway South, there was a report that officers responded to a vehicle that was occupied with a female who was slumped over in the driver’s seat. Upon further examination, probable cause was developed for DUI. The woman was booked into jail.

Placing cones in the road: At 2:40 a.m. in the 2200 block of South 320th Street, officers were advised of a suspect who was obstructing vehicles by placing cones in the roadway. Officers arrived on the scene, located the suspect and arrested him.

Uber full of people fighting: At 2:37 a.m. on westbound State Route 18 at Weyerhaeuser Way South, Washington State Patrol requested Federal Way Police Department assistance to respond to an Uber vehicle full of people fighting. One subject was arrested for fourth-degree domestic violence assault.

Stealing beer three times in one day: At 8:034 p.m. in the 100 block of SW Campus Drive, there was a report that a suspect entered the store three times and stole beer. The man was detained on his last attempt, and officers found that he was obviously intoxicated and seemed to have mental health issues. Suspect trespassed and issued a summons for the theft.

Women’s dresses: At 1:38 p.m. in the 350000 block of Enchanted Parkway South, there was a report that a man was taking pictures of women’s dresses. The man’s phone was taken as evidence.
