Enthusiastic volunteers “Hoofed it for the Homeless” in Federal Way on April 4.

The effort raised more than $2,400 to help reopen a winter homeless men’s shelter from October 2009 through March 2010 in Federal Way. The Reach Out shelter offers a roof, food and support services to participants. Reach Out is a grass-roots community group representing multiple faith communities and several non-profit service agencies.
