A rainy evening didn’t dampen the holiday spirits at the city of Federal Way’s annual tree lighting ceremony Saturday.

More than 27,000 lights grace the Christmas tree at Town Square Park, which Mayor Jim Ferrell illuminated during the ceremony.

Santa and Mrs. Claus arrived with help from South King Fire & Rescue, and the Federal Way Youth Symphony Orchestra, Brigadoon Honor Choir, Harmony Kings Chorus and the Thomas Jefferson High School Drum Line provided musical entertainment before the tree lighting.
