‘Hairspray’ comes to Decatur on April 28-30

The Decatur High School Theatre Company will present “Hairspray” on April 28-30 and May 5-7. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., show starts at 7 p.m. at the school, 2800 SW 320th St. Tickets are $10 (or $8 with ASB card). Call (253) 945-5290.

“Hairspray” is the 2002 multiple Tony award winning musical that was inspired by a 1988 movie and went on to inspire the famous 2007 movie musical. It’s 1962 in Baltimore, and teenager Tracy Turnblad’s dream is to dance on a local TV program, the “Corny Collins Show.” She gets hired, becoming an instant celebrity, then launches a campaign to integrate the show.
