The Federal Way Senior Center made a donation to the U.S. Marines Toys for Tots program on Dec. 17.
Sgt. Ronald Rorrie, Staff Sgt. Ricky Boysel and Staff Sgt. Mike Wallace were among local Marines who joined Rusty Ford, Ruth Cole and Yoshi Akers to load toys at the senior center. Rorrie runs the Southcenter recruiting office. The effort was led by Yoshi’s late husband, Les Akers, who recently passed away. The drive also benefitted from a 1,600-pound donation by Lakeland Elementary School. To learn more about Toys for Tots, visit www.toysfortots.org.
