WIAA Swim and Dive Championships come to Federal Way

The Washington Interscholastic Athletic Association 2A, 3A and 4A Girls Swim and Dive Championships will take place today and tomorrow at the Weyerhaeuser Aquatic Center in Federal Way.

The Washington Interscholastic Athletic Association 2A, 3A and 4A Girls Swim and Dive Championships will take place today and tomorrow at the Weyerhaeuser Aquatic Center in Federal Way.

The first preliminary rounds begin at 9:45 a.m. for the 2A championships on Nov. 13. The 3A prelims are scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. and the 4A prelims are scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m the same day.

They will continue on Saturday, Nov. 14 with the 2A finals scheduled for 9:30 a.m. The 3A finals are scheduled the same day at 2:15 p.m. and the 4A finals are scheduled at 7 p.m.

Decatur’s Meghann McLaughlin is the lone swimmer from Federal Way to qaulify for the state championships. She will be taking part in the 200 and 500-yard freestyle events.
