Tracking the grads: Softball and track athletes excelling in college

Lindsey Kay Bright — The 2008 Decatur High School graduate is hitting .302 for the Fordham softball team. The sophomore outfielder has started all 29 games and has scored 19 runs, with two doubles, four RBIs and nine stolen bases. Fordham is currently 23-6 on the season.

Bright was a three-time first-team, All-SPSL selection and four-time All-City selection in high school.

Kristi Sigafoos — The 2006 TJ grad is playing her senior year at Saint Martin’s College in Lacey as a second baseman. Sigafoos is currently hitting .333 with seven doubles, two home runs and 14 RBIs. She has started 28 games and Saint Martin’s is 11-21.

Both home runs came in a 6-4 win over Western Washington on March 20. The second was a game winner. Saint Martin’s trailed 4-3 in the seventh inning before Sigafoos connected on a walk-off, three-run homer.

Jade Clare — The 2006 Beamer grad is playing her senior season at Stony Brook University in New York. Clare is a catcher for the Sea Wolves and is hitting .171 with one double and six RBIs. She has started 14 games and Stony Brook is currently 13-8.

Alleah Pac — The Federal Way High grad is currently playing softball at Hamline University in Minnesota. She is hitting .125 in four games. Hamline is 4-4 on the season.

Erin Fujita — The 2009 Jefferson grad is playing outfield at Hawaii Pacific University. The freshman is hitting .257 with six runs, a triple and three RBIs. She has started nine games and played in 25. Hawaii Pacific is currently 31-4 on the season.

Tim Satterwhite — The TJ grad is currently competing on the Western Washington University track and field team. Satterwhite transferred to Western from Texas Southern.

McKinley Williams — The Todd Beamer graduate is currently running track at Western Washington University. The junior is a distance runner.

Justin Englund — The 2008 Decatur grad is running track at Washington State University and finished 38th at the Pac-10 Championships in the fall in cross country. Englund is running the 1600 and 3200 for the Cougar track team.

Ezra John Griffey — The 2008 Decatur grad is competing in his sophomore season for the Washington State track team. Griffey is running the sprint races for the Cougars.

Princess Joy Griffey — The 2006 Decatur grad is running on the Washington State track team. Griffey is competing in her senior year for the Cougars and running in sprint events. Last year, she finished fourth in the 100m in a time of 11.58 at the Pac-10 Championships. The time was the second-fastest time in Washington State history.

Amanda Stewart — The Decatur High School grad is competing in her sophomore season at Washington State. Stewart is a high jumper, who finished in the top-six at the state meet every year during high school. Her highest finish was third as a freshman.

Anthony Hogan — The 2009 Todd Beamer grad is competing on the Central Washington University track team. Hogan is a hurdler.
