Jenna Peterson and Brittany Orr — The two 2008 graduates are both playing their junior seasons at Concordia University in Oregon. Peterson graduated from Decatur and Orr attended Beamer. Both defenders have started all 19 matches this year for 17-0-2 Concordia. Orr has two goals and three assists and Peterson also has two goals and three assists for the No. 1-ranked NAIA program in the nation.

Orr was recently named to the 2010-11 CoSIDA/ESPN Academic All-District VII College Division Team and was named the Cascade Collegiate Conference Defensive Player of the Year. She has earned a 3.54 grade-point average while pursuing a business degree. She earned first-team NAIA All-American honors last season as a sophomore center back and quarterbacks a CU defense that tops the NAIA in shutouts (15), shutouts per game (0.833) and goals against average (0.16). Orr has made 65-straight starts, with CU going 59-4-2 over that stretch.

Peterson was also named to the Cascade Conference’s All-League team as a defender.

Holland Crook — The 2010 Beamer grad is playing her freshman season at Arizona State University. Crook, a forward, was an all-state selection three times in high school, as well as the state player of the year. This season, she had three assists in 20 matches for the Sun Devils.

For the first time since 2003, Arizona State played in back-to-back NCAA Tournaments. The Sun Devils (9-8-3, 3-5-1 Pac-10) lost Friday in the opening round to UC Irvine, 2-1.

Megan Miller and Jessica Niewoehner — The Beamer both played for the Oregon State Beavers this season. Miller, a midfielder, is a sophomore and Niewoehner is a freshman defender. Miller started eight games for the Beavers, who finished 16-4-1 on the season. She had one goal and two assists. Niewoehner played in two matches.

For the second consecutive year, Oregon State played at the NCAA Tournament. After advancing to the Sweet 16 in 2009, the Beavers secured an at-large bid to the tournament this year. They beat Memphis in the first round Friday in Stillwater, Okla. before losing to Oklahoma State Sunday, 2-1.

Nicole Peterson — The 2008 Beamer graduate recently finished her junior season at the University of Dayton. Peterson transferred from Seton Hall, where she played in 35 games. She started three matches for the 19-4-0 Flyers. Dayton won the Atlantic 10 Tournament championship finished the season ranked 15th in the nation.

Dayton beat Virginia Tech Friday at Ohio State’s Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium in the first round of the NCAA Tournament, but lost to Ohio State Sunday in the second round Sunday on penalty kicks. The game was tied 0-0 after regulation and overtime, but Ohio State outshot Dayton, 4-2.

Bree Rowe — The Federal Way grad recently concluded her junior season at the University of Oregon. The midfielder played in 18 matches for the Ducks and had one assist. Oregon finished 7-10-3 overall.

Mackenzie Hickel — The 2010 Beamer grad started two matches this season for the Boise State Broncos. The freshman midfielder had two shots on goal. Boise State finished 8-10-3 on the season.

Sara Byrne — The 2008 TJ grad played her junior year at Eastern Washington. The defender started 14 matches this season and had one assist. She was named to the Big Sky All-Academic Team last year. Eastern finished 2-14-1 on the season.

Michelle Borth — The 2007 TJ grad played her junior season at the New Jersey Institute of Technology. Borth played in five matches this season and had a goal. The team finished 4-13-1 on the season.

Kelsey Learned — The TJ grad played her sophomore year at the US Naval Academy in Maryland. The midfielder played in 19 games this year and had two goals. The Naval Academy finished 9-8-3 overall.

Jordan Salisbury — The Beamer grad played her junior season at Seattle University. The defender started all 18 matches for the Redhawks and had one goal. Seattle U finished 10-6-2 on the season.

Cayla Dixon and Molly Campbell — The two Federal Way grads are playing at St. Martin’s University. Dixon, a senior defender, started all of the Saints matches and Campbell, a freshman defender, played in 14. St. Martin’s was 8-10-0 on the season.

Amy Pate — The TJ grad recently finished her junior season at Central Washington University. The defender started 16 matches for the Wildcats and had three goals and two assists. Central was 4-12-2 on the season.

Mallory Murray and Ashtin Rigney — Murray, a TJ grad, and Rigney, a Federal Way grad, are both playing at Highline CC. Mallory had two assists. The Thunderbirds are 7-6-4 on the season.

Rachel Markey — The 2010 Decatur grad is playing her freshman season at Edmonds CC. The midfielder has five goals and three assists this season and Edmonds is 9-5-3 on the year.
