Todd Beamer High School dominates the Mirror’s 2014 All-City Softball Team after rolling into postseason, with the Titans making its second trip to state in two years. The Titans lost to Woodinville in the second round.
Pitcher
Maddie Rogers, Beamer:
The junior pitcher had another outstanding season, posting a 1.48 ERA and winning 21 games during the course of the season. Those 21 wins accounted for 22 of Beamer’s total wins on the season — a testament to her durability. Rogers added 207 strikeouts, while holding opponents to a .230 on base average. In her 180 innings of work, Rogers also posted an incredible .886 fielding percentage. All of those impressive numbers added up to a All-SPSL 4A South First Team nod, as well.
Jaclyn Gillis, Federal Way:
The sophomore earned an All-SPSL 4A South Second-Team nod, with a strong season both on the mound and in the batters box for the Eagles. She struck out nine in an 8-3 win over Spanaway Lake on April 25. In a March 17 win over Mercer Island, she went 3-4 with two runs scored, and looks to continue to be a powerful presence on the diamond for the Eagles in the future.
Infield
Megan Jewett-Chan, Beamer:
Jewett-Chan was named the SPSL 4A North MVP on the season, and for good reason. The senior posted an out-of-this world .515 average, and, accordingly, posted a ridiculous OBP of .525. Jewett-Chan rounded out her impressive offensive season with 39 RBI and 21 runs.
Jourdin Hering, Beamer:
The sophomore was a strong all-around player for Beamer in 2014, covering second base, along with duties in centerfield and right field. Offensively, Herring notched a .356 batting average and a .408 OBP, while bringing in 11 RBI and scoring 24 runs. Herring joined a number of her fellow Beamer teammates on the All-SPSL 4A South First Team as well.
Kelsey McDonnell, Beamer:
The senior earned an All-SPSL 4A South Second Team nod from the league’s coaches while posting a .366 batting average, .438 OBP, and 19 RBI and 26 runs scored.
Annalise Campbell, Jefferson:
The senior finished out her career strong, earning an All-SPSL 4A North First Team nod. Campbell had some monster games offensively throughout the season, starting early with a 4-4 effort, three of which were triples. She also added four RBI in that early season win over Decatur. She had another romp at the plate on March 31, bringing in four runs in a 14-0 rout of Auburn, while adding a 3-3 effort in a 14-3 win over Auburn-Riverside on May 7.
Outfield
Analee Scott, Beamer:
Junior Scott had a scorching 2014 campaign, earning her a place on the All-SPSL 4A South Team. The outfielder hit .539 with an OBP of .552, bringing in 17 RBI while scoring 42 runs.
Maddy Colson, Beamer:
THe junior was yet another Beamer player to be given the nod for the All-SPSL 4A South Team, with solid stats all around. The left fielder recorded a .313 average this year, and also notched a .418 OBP, while knocking in 18 RBI and scoring 19 runs.
Jayme Scanson, Federal Way:
The senior was a strong offensive presence for the Eagles all season, starting the season off with a scorching 3-5 effort with five RBI, including a home run, in a 11-9 win over Mercer Island. She was also instrumental in the Eagles 8-3 win over Spanaway Lake on April 25, going 2-4 with two runs scored.
