The Thomas Jefferson baseball team hung on Thursday afternoon to pick up a 3-2 win over the Auburn Riverside Ravens.
Junior Niko DelaCruz threw a complete game and didn’t allow an earned run during the win. DelaCruz gave up six hits in seven innings, walking three and striking out three.
Offensively, TJ (6-6 overall, 4-6 SPSL North) was led by T.J. Byrne. The junior connected on a three-run home run in the third inning to give the Raiders all the offense they needed.
Decatur — The Gators (9-6 overall, 6-4 SPSL 3A) lost their third game in a row Thursday to the Peninsula Seahawks in five innings. The Seahawks tallied 11 runs in the bottom of the third inning.
Decatur finished with only two hits on the day and made four errors.
