PREP SPORTS WRAP: Federal Way soccer remains unbeaten with shutout of Beamer, 4-0

The Federal Way Eagles remained unbeaten on the season with a 4-0 shutout of the Todd Beamer Titans Tuesday at Federal Way Memorial Stadium.

Federal Way (3-0-0) got a pair of goals from Felipe Hernandez and single goals from Alex Lewis and Handson Pelogi. Koby Craig picked up the shutout in goal.

The loss was Beamer’s first of the season (2-1-0).

Jefferson — The defending SPSL-champion Raiders moved to 3-0-0 on the year with a 4-2 win over Tahoma Tuesday in Maple Valley.

Jefferson’s Isidro Prado-Huerta scored a pair of goals and Brandon Madsen and Luis Alvaro Osornio both tallied single goals.

Baseball

Beamer — The Titans (1-3) dropped their first SPSL South game of the season Tuesday to Emerald Ridge, 6-4. Beamer outhit the Jaguars, 11-3, but allowed three runs each in the first and fourth innings.

Scott Sunitsch took the loss on the mound for the Titans. Sunitsch also finished 2 for 3 with a double and two runs. Brycen Allen was 1 for 2 with three RBIs and Taylor Davis was 2 for 4 with an RBI.

Jefferson — The Raiders (1-2) lost their SPSL North opener Tuesday to Tahoma, 10-0. The Bears took over the game with five runs in the top of the fifth. They also scored four in the seventh. Jordan Price finished 2 for 3 and Niko DelaCruz was 1 for 3 with a double. Zachary Lane was the hard-luck loser on the mound. The junior didn’t allow an earned run in 4 2/3 innings of work, but was hurt by errors and six unearned runs.

Federal Way — The Eagles (1-3) lost their SPSL South opener Tuesday, 7-3, to Curtis. Federal Way was only able to muster two hits against Madison Alder. Chris Shimer finished 1 for 1 with a double. Evan Elliott took the loss on the mound for the Eagles.

Decatur — The Gators (3-2) blew away the Highline Pirates Monday, 15-5, in five innings. Jim Sullivan led the offensive attack by finishing 2 for 3 with four RBIs and a home run. James Marshall picked up the win on the mound.
