Pacific Waves Synchronized Swim Club makes waves in Ohio, offers classes in Federal Way

The Pacific Waves Synchronized Swim Club recently competed at the USA Junior Olympic Championships held the last week of June in Oxford, Ohio.

The team is now ranked fifth in the nation, with most of the girls competing in the finals for the first time.

The non-profit club is also trying to promote the sport in the community by holding introduction to synchronized swimming classes at the Twin Lakes Golf and Country Club in Federal Way, according to head coach Natalie Montgomery. Sessions run 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. July 23-27 and 5-6 p.m. Aug. 6-10. Classes are for ages 7 and up.

The club offers programs ranging from novices to advanced swimmers. The team currently practices at the King County Aquatic Center in Federal Way and has a “Masters program” gearing up for national competition in October.
