Soccer

The biggest game in the SPSL North so far this season has been put on hold. The Jefferson-Kentwood game, which features the only two unbeaten teams in league, was postponed Friday because of snow at Federal Way Memorial Stadium. The Rogers-Todd Beamer game Friday night was also postponed. There has been no date set for making up the games.

The defending SPSL North champion Federal Way Eagles remained winless in league play with a 5-1 loss to Kentlake on Friday night. Federal Way (0-3-1 in SPSL North, 1-4-1 overall) couldn’t stop Kentlake’s Tyler Wright, who scored four of their five goals.

Decatur (2-2-1) and Kentridge played to a 1-1 tie Friday. Jesse Jensen tallied the first goal of the game in the 22nd minute for Kentridge (3-1-2). But Decatur’s Jarod Johnson took a pass from Austin Nuss just before halftime to tie the game.

Baseball

The Federal Way Eagles and pitcher Taylor Horsfall downed the Decatur Gators, 5-1, Thursday afternoon. Horsfall threw a complete game, struck out six and walked only one. The Eagles scored two runs each in the sixth and seventh innings to break a 1-1 tie.

Horsfall got all the run support he needed on a pair of home runs from Brandon Robbins and Shane Elliot. Kyle Font was 2-for-3 with a run and stolen base.

Beamer moved to .500 on the season with a 7-6 win over Rogers Saturday. The Titans (3-3) tallied three runs in the top of the fifth inning to overcome a 6-4 deficit. Travis Crumb picked up the win on the mound in relief and Brian Corliss, Carson Wolbert both score two runs each.
