Thomas Jefferson

• Grade: Freshman

• Sport: Girls swimming

• Accomplishment: The Raider freshman remained unbeaten in the 50- and 100-yard freestyle events this year by picking up a pair of victories at South Puget Sound League Championship Meet Saturday at Curtis High School. Cratsenberg won the 50 in 24.83 and the 100 in 54.42. Beamer’s Eryn Murphy finished second in both events. Cratsenberg will next swim at the West Central District Meet today at Rogers High School.

• Favorite athlete: Swimmers Ryan Lochte and Michael Phelps

• What is on your iPod?: A mix of country, pop and a little bit of rap.

• What is your favorite class?: English

• Something people don’t know about you?: “I love animals.”

AMANDA BEYKE

Decatur

• Grade: Freshman

• Sport: Girls golf

• Accomplishment: Beyke finished up in third place at last week’s South Puget Sound League Medalist Golf Tournament at Gold Mountain Golf Course in Port Orchard. The tournament included 97 players from all 18 SPSL schools. The finish qualified Beyke for the Class 4A State Tournament, which will be held in May in the Tri-Cities.

• Favorite athlete: Tiger Woods, “because of his determination and hard work.”

• What is on your iPod?: “My iPod has almost everything on it. I’ve downloaded every CD in my house and I still download every new song on the radio I like.”

• What is your favorite class?: Geometry and French.

• Something people don’t know about you?: “My favorite thing to do besides golf is to relax and watch movies or hang out with friends.”

• Grade: Freshman

• Sport: Boys Tennis

• Accomplishment: The freshman won the SPSL South Division singles championship with a win over teammate Corey Zalewski in the title match, 6-2, 6-0.

RACHEL KIM

Beamer

• Grade: Sophomore

• Sport: Girls Swimming

• Accomplishment: Kim won a pair of SPSL swimming titles in state-qualifying times. Kim won the 200-yard individual medley (2:13.54) and 100 backstroke (1:01.24).
