It took a while, but the Todd Beamer girls basketball team no longer has a zero in the win column.

The Titans picked up their first victory of the season Friday night when they beat the Spanaway Lake Sentinels, 48-39, in Federal Way. The win improves Beamer to 1-9 in the South Puget Sound League South Division and 1-11 overall.

The Titans jumped all over Spanaway Lake (6-10, 5-7) in the first quarter. Beamer rolled out to an early 14-7 advantage after the first quarter and led 27-20 at halftime. The Titans were led by the 18 points of Shyla Akins and 12 from Meghan Graf.

In other girls basketball action:

• The Federal Way Eagles blew out the Kentridge Chargers Friday night, 64-22. The win improved the Eagles to 12-3 overall and 8-3 in the SPSL North Division.

Federal Way got a career-high 18 points from Tiara Fuller, 16 from Darah Huertas-Vining and 12 from Talia Walton. The Eagle defense allowed Kentridge only 11 points in each half Friday, including only two points during the second quarter.

• The Thomas Jefferson Raiders used an impressive second-half comeback Friday night to down the Tahoma Bears, 52-50, in a pivotal SPSL North Division game in Maple Valley. The win leaves the Raiders (9-7, 6-6) one loss back of the fifth and final playoff berth from the North.

Tahoma (4-7) jumped out to a 28-19 lead after the first half of play, but the Raiders outscored the Bears 20-10 during the third quarter to take a one-point lead into the final eight minutes.

Jefferson was led by the 18 points of Unique Taufa’asau and 13 from Hannah Kiyohara.

• The Decatur Gators were beaten by the Puyallup Vikings, 53-26, Thursday night. The loss drops the Gators to 1-11 in the SPSL South. Decatur scored only eight points during the first half, including three in the first quarter.

The Gators were led by the nine points of Denisha Green and got six points each from Abby McFaul and Chastity Smith.
