GIRLS BASKETBALL: No. 1 Federal Way blows away Graham-Kapowsin; Rogers squeaks by Beamer

The top-ranked Federal Way Eagles remained unbeaten in the South Puget Sound League South Division with a 70-22 win over Graham-Kapowsin Saturday night at home.

The Eagles (16-1 overall, 13-0 overall) had four players score in double figures during the win and were led by the 18 points of Darah Huertas-Vining. Talia Walton chipped in 17, Raven Benton finished with 13 and Dyesha Bellhumeur tallied 10 points.

Federal Way led by only six points after the first quarter, but outscored Graham-Kapowsin, 53-11, the remainder of the game.

A win Tuesday night over Rogers will clinch the SPSL South Division for the Eagles.

In other action:

at Rogers 55, Beamer 42 — The Titans couldn’t hang with the Rams Saturday night in Puyallup.

Beamer (10-7 overall, 7-6 SPSL South) was led by the 16 points of Meghan Graf and got 11 from Shyla Akins. The Titans remain in a tie for fourth place in the SPSL South with Spanaway Lake. The top-five finishers advance to the postseason.

Auburn Riverside 60, at Jefferson 19 — The Ravens held the Raiders to single-digit scoring numbers in all four quarters Saturday to win the SPSL North contest big.

Jefferson (6-10 overall, 5-8 SPSL North) was led by six points each from Christy Kullberg and Jada Piper.

at Enumclaw 38, Decatur 36 — The Hornets erased a five-point Gator lead entering the fourth quarter to pick up the SPSL 3A win Friday night. Enumclaw outscored Decatur, 9-2, during the fourth quarter.

Decatur (6-12 overall, 3-5 SPSL 3A) was led by the 15 points of A’yesia Rogers.
