The game began at 4 p.m., as opposed to 7 p.m., because of electrical problems with the lights at Federal Way Memorial Stadium.

The Todd Beamer Titans (1-3) won on the last play of the game, thanks to a 19-yard field goal by junior kicker Peter Lee. It was Lee’s second field goal of the game, having kicked a 33-yard field goal earlier in the fourth quarter.

Beamer coach Darren McKay credited his team’s defense, as well as clutch kicking by Lee, for the victory.

“He’s made that hundreds of times in practice. It’s nice to see the execution in those kinds of situations,” McKay said of his kicker.

The coach added that because of the electrical malfunction in the stadium, McKay had to ask the officials for the time in an attempt to manage the clock. As of this writing, the stadium’s electrical power was set to be restored by Tuesday.

The Thomas Jefferson Raiders (1-3) had four turnovers in the game compared to Beamer’s single turnover.

On Sept. 28, Thomas Jefferson will travel to Auburn Riverside, while Todd Beamer will play Curtis High School in University Place.
