Federal Way will have its first-ever all-natural, 100 percent tested, drug-free bodybuilding show from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, July 16, at the Knutzen Family Theater.

Unlike what’s normally seen on ESPN and in muscle magazines, these are everyday average moms, dads, grandparents and students who commit themselves to months of training and nutrition discipline to transform their physique without commonly used over-the-counter drugs or other substances.

There will be many inspiring individuals of different shapes, sizes and fitness levels, as well as some just beginning their fitness journey. There will be teen bodybuilders who are 15 years old, a 60-year-old woman competing for her first time, and Levi Plumlee, who has cerebral palsy and who used bodybuilding to help him gain control over his body and movement – most have a difficult time understanding his speech, but those who spend time with him know what he’s saying and know his burning desire to show people that anything is possible, stop making excuses, and reach for your dreams.

Many people have no idea that there is a difference of options in the sport of bodybuilding. While there are many performance-based sport options in our area ranging from 5k races, mud run obstacle courses, and crossfit games, Victory Natural Northwest provides a competiton platform for average, everyday people who work out for the purpose of transforming their physique.

Victory Natural Northwest is part of the North American Natural Bodybuilding Federation, which requires all athletes to be polygraph-tested and all winners to be urine-tested. There is a very long list of banned substances, including fat-burners, human growth hormones and prescribed steroids – which are commonly accepted in other sports.

Athlete check-in will be Friday, July 15, from 4-7 p.m. at Victory Get Fit Club, where spray tans and polygraphs will also be held.
