Federal Way prep wrap-up: Track, softball, soccer, tennis

Federal Way High School senior Jacqie Evenson and the rest of her Eagle track and field teammates proved too much for the rest of the schools at Tuesday’s Bill Harris Invitational meet at Federal Way Memorial Stadium.

Evenson swept both hurdle races and took the long jump on the girls’ side during the 14-team invitational named for former Eagle coach Bill Harris. Evenson ran a 16.03 in the 100-meter hurdles and a 47.59 in the 300 hurdles. She also jumped 15-11 3/4 in the long jump.

Brittany Barrington (shot, discus) and Jessica Roland (high jump, triple jump) each won twice for the Eagles, whose 298.43 points far outdistanced runner-up Auburn (60.93). The results were combined between the boys and girls from each school.

Kathryn Shimer won the pole vault and the Eagle girls took the 400 and 800 relays.

In the boys meet, Rashaun Johnson of Foster swept the boys hurdles and Tacoma Baptist’s Maurice McNeal was a double winner in the 100 and 200 meters.

Federal Way picked up individual wins from Andru Pulu in the shot put (49-3), Miguel Mucias in the discus (142-5), Andre Barrington in the triple jump (45-0) and Trenton Pinson in the 100 meters (10.94). The Eagles also won the 1,600 relay.
