Federal Way National Little League prepares for spring season

Registration open for baseball, softball and Challenger teams.

Spring is a few weeks away, meaning baseball season is almost here.

On Feb. 12, kids ages 4 to 16 took to the Federal Way National Little League fields to prepare for the upcoming season. The Saturday Hit-A-Thon fun day was a chance for kids and families to loosen up for spring ball.

Registration is open for the upcoming spring baseball, softball and Challenger seasons.

Upper Divisions Season: Majors and AAA

  • Tryouts are at the end of February (Feb. 20 and Feb. 26).
  • All players trying out will make a team. (no child turned away)
  • Practices start week of Feb. 28.

Coaches practice 3-4 nights or days a week, typically for 2 hours after school and on Saturdays. Scrimmages and games begin in mid-March with season starting just before spring break.

Once games begin, practices move back to once or twice per week with one to two games per week. The season ends with playoffs the week of May 23 and will be completed before Memorial Day Weekend.

Lower Division Season: AA, A, T-Ball

Parent’s Night is Wednesday, March 16 for all registered families. This meeting may be held in person, or potentially on Zoom depending on CDC guidelines at that time.

Information will be sent to all registered families at the emails provided in registration.

Practices are two to three nights a week starting March 19. T-Ball is on the lower end.

Games begin after spring break, the week of April 11.

Once games begin, practices return to once or twice per week with one to two games per week. T-Ball will be on lower end.
