Todd Beamer High School senior Jacob Luft, baseball, was selected as the Federal Way Mirror Male Athlete of the Week for April 29.
Q: What is your favorite subject/class in school?
A: My favorite subject in school is American Sign Language (ASL).
Q: What additional activities/hobbies do you enjoy?
A: I am a member of the Air Force Junior Reserve Officer’s Training Corps (AFJROTC) program.
Q: Person who has helped you succeed the most?
A: My dad. He pushes me to try my best.
Q: What is the best advice you’ve been given when it comes to your sport?
A: To prove the critics wrong.
Q: Describe your pre-game ritual:
A: I get down to the field, take some BP, and play Flip with the team.
Q: What’s your favorite post-game meal?
A: A nice, big steak.
Q: Song you currently can’t stop listening to?
A: “God’s Country” by Blake Shelton.
From the sidelines: TBHS senior Jacob Luft deserves this recognition for his leadership skills and his ability to be a great utility man for the team. He is a senior captain that leads by example and verbally. I can put him anywhere on the baseball field and feel comfortable he will get the job done.
