Federal Way Mirror Female Athlete of the Week of April 21: Cassandra Atkins

FWHS junior recently broke both a track meet and school record in the long jump.

Federal Way High School junior Cassandra Atkins, track and field, is the Federal Way Mirror Female Athlete of the Week for April 21.

Q: What is your favorite subject/class in school?

A: Anatomy.

Q: What hobbies do you enjoy outside of your sport?

A: Track, explore different types of music, do hair and draw.

Q: Who is the person in your life that has helped you succeed the most?

A: Coach Nate Wilford with ASA Track.

Q: If you could have dinner with anyone (living or from the past), who would it be? Why?

A: Whitney Houston, I enjoy her music and would like to ask her about her life.

Q: Describe your pre-game ritual:

A: Eat Chipotle burrito at least two days before the competition, then ice and stretch.

Q: Song you currently can’t stop listening to?

A: “Take No Prisoners” by Megadeth.

From the Sidelines: FWHS junior Cassandra Atkins had a great week. She ran a personal record in the 200M race on Wednesday. This past Saturday, April 15, she had a huge long jump with a 19’5.5 to break a meet record (Nike Union Athletics Club South Sound Classic), and school record, and is leading the state. She also anchored the 4x100M relay which broke a meet record last Saturday with a time of 49.66.
