Thomas Jefferson High School senior Lyla Yesiltepe, golf, is the Federal Way Mirror Female Athlete of the Week for Oct. 28.

Q: What is your favorite subject/class in school?

A: Biology.

Q: What additional activities/hobbies do you enjoy?

A: Reading and binge-watching movies or shows.

Q: Person who has helped you succeed the most?

A: My Mom.

Q: Best advice you’ve been given when it comes to your sport?

A: “Forget what happened and focus on the next shot.”

Q: Describe your pre-game ritual and favorite post-game meal:

A: Pre-game: I hit golf balls on the range, putt and try to relax. Post-game: Chicken strips.

Q: Song you currently can’t stop listening to?

A: Anything by Keshi.

From the sidelines: TJHS Lyla Yesiltepe was the top-scoring golfer for 3A girls in the NPSL regular season. She led the Raiders to an 8-2 regular season record. She won the 3A NPSL individual league tournament, helped the Raiders to a third-place finish in the NPSL tournament, and a spot in the spring West Central District district tournament.
