Decatur High School senior Kayla Autry, fastpitch, was selected as the Federal Way Mirror Female Athlete of the Week for May 6.

Q: What is your favorite subject/class in school?

A: English.

Q: What additional activities/hobbies do you enjoy?

A: Going to the gym and reading.

Q: Person who has helped you succeed the most?

A: My parents.

Q: What is the best advice you’ve been given when it comes to your sport?

A: Don’t let other people’s actions control your emotions.

Q: Describe your pre-game ritual:

A: Doing my hair and listening to music.

Q: What’s your favorite post-game meal?

A: Chicken nuggets and fries.

From the sidelines: Decatur senior Kayla Autry will earn her fourth varsity letter this spring in fastpitch. She is the Gators leadoff batter, she has a .459 batting average with 5 stolen bases and 5 extra base hits on the season. Kayla has provided valuable leadership in her role as captain of the 2022 team. She also has participated for four season in the Cross Country program. Kayla has signed a National Letter of Intent to continue her academic and athletic pursuits at Southern Virginia University.
