Federal Way Mirror Female Athlete of the Week for Dec. 7: Anjilia “Jil” Sumandig

FWHS senior holds 109-26 record entering 2018-19 season.

Athlete of the Week:

Federal Way High School’s Anjilia “Jil” Sumandig, girls wrestling, was selected as the Federal Way Mirror Female Athlete of the Week for Dec. 7.

Q: What is your favorite subject/class in school?

A: Self-defense class.

Q: What other activities/hobbies do you participate in?

A: Soccer, wrestling, hanging out with family and friends.

Q: Person who has helped you succeed the most?

A: Akaiyasia Sumandig (Jil’s sister) is very motivational for wrestling and supportive.

Q: Do you have a pre­game/competition ritual or post­game tradition, and what is it?

A: Pre – has to dance before her matches. Post – talks with her dad.

Q: Song you currently can’t get enough of?

A: “Sicko Mode” by Travis Scott and Drake.

From the sideline: Anjilia has been a pillar of the Federal Way wrestling team for the past five years. During her time here, she has compiled a record of 109-26. This year during her senior season, she has elevated her leadership skills for the betterment of the team. This past weekend, she won the Lady Jag invite. She is poised for another great season with the Eagles.
