What does it mean to be a good teammate? Why is it important to your success? What is one thing you do to help others around you?

Being a good teammate means uplifting others and leading by example. Being a good teammate is important to my success because it allows me to put my best foot forward when racing and it motivates me to race my hardest for my team’s overall success. For me, being a supportive teammate means that I set goals for the team, spark motivations for teammates during times of difficulty. Second, I listen to my teammates feedback and adjust my actions to improve.

If you could have dinner with anyone (living or from the past), who would it be? Why?

I would have dinner with Kathrine Switzer because I would love to learn about her story and how she became the first woman to run the Boston Marathon in 1967.

From the sidelines:

This season, Abigail proved what relentless dedication and belief in her own potential can achieve. She emerged as one of the state’s top competitors, racing to an incredible third-place finish at the 3A State Championship. Her breakthrough moment came mid-season when she won her heat at the Woodbridge Invite in CA, showing that she could rise to any challenge placed in front of her. Abigail also delivered powerful performances with second-place finishes at both the League Championship and the District Championship, demonstrating consistency, grit, and heart. As the team’s top runner, she pushed herself to new heights. Her drive resulted in a new personal record and a remarkable school record of 17:51 for the 5K at the Nike West Regional Championship meet. Abigail’s season is a reminder that when talent meets determination, extraordinary things happen.
