From the sidelines: Thoma Holden is a fierce competitor and a leader for the FWHS Eagles on the tennis court. Thoma notched up 20 match wins during competition this fall, but was never content to rest on his laurels. He trained diligently, especially to develop his service game, earning him 10 no touch aces during the highest level of competition in the post-season. Coaches, parents and other athletes often notice Thoma, although it is not only his ability and impressive serves: they just as frequently comment what a joy it is to play with a polite and well-mannered opponent. Thoma’s demeanor on and off the court played no small part in earning the team their award for Best Sportsmanship and helped him and his partner secure the NPSL 4A Doubles Team of the Year
