Federal Way alum Kaden Kirshenbaum wins GNAC Athlete of the Week

Kirshenbaum is off to a blistering start for the Montana State University Billings Yellowjackets.

Kaden Kirshenbaum was awarded Great Northwest Athletic Conference (GNAC) Athlete of the Week of March 20-26 at the Division 2 level.

Kirshenbaum is in his junior year at Montana State University Billings (MSUB) after two years of playing at Skagit Valley College. The Federal Way High School alumni plays third base for the Yellowjackets.

Kirshenbaum received the award after MSUB split a doubleheader on Saturday with Western Oregon University. Over those two games, Kirshenbaum went 6-8 (.750 BA).

In game one Kirshenbaum had career highs at all levels. He achieved his first four-hit game at the D2 level and had his second multi-home run game of the season for the Yellowjackets. He also totaled five RBIs for the first time in his career and stole two bases for the seventh time in his college career.

He has eight home runs this season, which is six more than his career at Skagit Valley. This season he’s also hitting a whopping .384 (34-99) batting average through 24 games so far.

Kirshenbaum was a standout player at SVC winning their 2021-22 Student-Athlete of the Year for the Cardinals on top of being a first-team all-NWAC infielder. He also won a Gold Glove in 2022.
