The defending state-champion and No. 1-ranked Federal Way Eagles showed no signs of rust Tuesday night by completely dismantling the Kentlake Falcons Tuesday night, 137-70.

The 67-point victory was Federal Way’s first game in over two weeks. The Eagles (8-0 overall, 5-0 in the South Puget Sound League North Division) got 35 points from senior Cole Dickerson and 30 from Isiah Umipig. The twosome led six Eagles in double figures during the blowout.

Robert Christopher and Tyrell Lewis both finished with 18 points each, Roosevelt Jones tallied a career-high 15 and Jerry Duckworth finished with 11 points.

Federal Way and Kentlake actually played pretty close during the first quarter. The Eagles held “only” a seven-point lead after the opening eight minutes of play, 30-23. But it was all Federal Way from then on. The Eagles outscored Kentlake, 107-47, during the final three quarters and held a 101-52 lead after the third quarter.

Mike Salazar scored 21 for Kentlake (4-6, 3-3).

Federal Way’s last game was Dec. 19 against Castlemont High School from Oakland, Calif. The Eagles downed Castlemont, 69-46, at a holiday tournament in Portland.

In other basketball action:

• The Thomas Jefferson Raiders (5-5, 2-4) lost a heartbreaker Tuesday night on the road against the Auburn Riverside Ravens, 62-61. Senior Ryan Rogers converted a turnaround jumper with two seconds remaining in the game to give the Ravens the one-point victory.

Rogers grabbed an offensive rebound after Dustin Hegge attempted a 3-pointer with nine seconds remaining in the game and finished with 31 points and eight rebounds for the Ravens (7-3, 4-2).

Senior Jeff Brigham gave TJ the 61-60 lead on an assist from Scott Sanford with 14 seconds remaining, setting up Rogers’ heroics. The Raiders were led by the 16 points and 11 rebounds from Spencer Hicks and 13 points from Eric Radford.

• The seventh-ranked Decatur Gators remained in second place in the SPSL South with a 77-35 blowout win over Graham-Kapowsin Tuesday night. The Gators (8-2, 6-1) got 21 points from Jordan McCloud and held the Eagles to single-digit points in the second, third and fourth quarters.

Jerron Smith added 19 points and Dom Samuels chipped in 10 points for Decatur.

• The Todd Beamer Titans (6-4, 4-2) were beaten up by the Puyallup Vikings Tuesday night, 81-61. The Vikings (7-3, 4-2) outscored the Titans 28-14 during the first quarter and led 46-26 at halftime.

Beamer was led by the 26 points of Kevin Davis and also got 15 points from junior guard Napa Mefi.
