Federal Way heavyweight Vincent Thompson remains undefeated after defeating Geovanni Sarran on Feb. 23 at Little Creek Casino. (SEE PHOTOS)
Thompson is now 13-0 with 2 KO’s in his boxing career. He and Sarran (3-5) went the distance in Saturday’s six-round main event.
Thompson started the fight aggressively and kept Sarran on the defensive and against the ropes early, according to boxingprospects.net. The site reports that Sarran backed Thompson against the ropes in the fourth round and landed several punches to Thompson’s body. While the fighters resorted to leaning and holding in the mid to late rounds, Thompson established some distance and kept Sarran at bay with his jab.
Judges scored the fight 58-55, 59-54 and 60-53 in favor of Thompson.
