The Todd Beamer High School girls soccer team just can’t get by Emerald Ridge. For the second time this season, the Titans didn’t have enough firepower to hang with the unbeaten Jaguars.

Emerald Ridge (10-0-0) overcame an early 1-0 Beamer lead with a pair of goals to beat the Titans, 2-1, in a pivotal South Puget Sound League South Division soccer battle Friday at Federal Way Memorial Stadium. The victory gives the Jaguars the inside track at the SPSL South title. Emerald Ridge already has two wins over second-place Beamer with six matches remaining.

Beamer got on the scoreboard first Friday afternoon when Tiarra Fentress scored on a pass from Jessica Niewoehner in the 14th minute of the match to give the Titans a 1-0 lead.

But Audrey Sullivan scored just before halftime to tie the game at 1-1 and added her second goal in the 72nd minute to give the Jaguars the victory.

The Decatur Gators (5-1-3) remained in fourth place in the SPSL South with a 1-1 tie Thursday against the Puyallup Vikings.

Puyallup (5-4-1) scored first in the 17th minute, but Decatur’s Ashley Graves took a pass from Rylie Buckholz in the 33rd minute to tie the game at 1-1.

Federal Way (3-5-2) played to a 2-2 tie against Auburn Riverside Thursday. The Eagles got goals from Haley Ward on a penalty kick and Kendal Feider took a pass from Bianca Arizpe in the 45th minute.
