Kathryn “Kay” Jackson, 83, passed away peacefully Aug. 31, 2007, after a long battle with COPD and lung cancer. Born in Everett and graduating from Queen Anne High School in Seattle, she had been a Federal Way resident for the past 60 years. Kay loved to read and worked as a librarian for the King County Library System in Federal Way for 30 years. After retiring, she was invited to many of the local elementary schools in Federal Way to give the history of Federal Way and the library. She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Warren Jackson. Survivors include daughter, Chris Lashua (Jack), of Enumclaw; sons Jerry Jackson (Penny) of Fircrest, Tim Jackson of St. John, U.S. Virgin Islands; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
